Testimonial

We have been working with SN Systems' tools for just about as long as I can remember, so using ProDG and the NDK for the PlayStation®2 was not really a question for us. When things got a little tight toward the end of the project and we needed new features added to the NDK, the team at SN was there for us...

The fact that 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3' has been pulling down outstanding reviews is proof that SN Systems is the right choice for developers.

Overview

Most SN Systems products are licensed for use on one PC; they are referred to as licensed products. Licenses are managed by the Product Licensing System (PLS).

These are the steps needed in order to get a licensed product working:

  1. When you place an order or request an evaluation for a licensed product, we will send you a license ID (previously "Product User ID") for that product. The license ID is unique and consists of 18 characters.
  2. You install the licensed product. At this point the product will not work because it has not been licensed.
  3. For details on how to register your license ID, see "How do I get a new license from SN Systems?".
  4. We will then send you a license file by e-mail.
  5. You must place the license file into the directory that contains the product executable in order to activate the product.

The process of registering your license ID and activating your product is fully automated and can take as little as a few minutes to complete.

Question:

How do I transfer a license to a new PC?

Answer:

If you wish to transfer your licensed product to a different PC, you have two options:

  • Transfer the network card from your existing PC and reinstall the software

Or:

  • If you can't transfer the network card you should:
    • Download the SNRegister program from here, and run it on the new PC
    • SNRegister will ask you to enter your existing License ID from your old PC (if you've lost your License ID, retrieve it from here)
    • E-mail the SNRegister text file to licensing@snsys.com with a brief explanation of the reason for the transfer, e.g. new PC with new network card
    • We will send you a replacement license file with a new License ID within 1 working day
    • The original license will be invalidated

Question:

Why do I have to run SNRegister on the same PC where I wish to install the software?

Answer:

The license file that is sent back to you has your PC's Physical address encrypted in it. This ensures that only one copy of the software can be used for every license purchased.

Question:

What should I do if the license I want to use has previously been used by someone else on a different machine?

Answer:

Please run SNRegister on the machine that you want to use the software, but before you submit the auto-request to SN Systems you need to state that the license was originally assigned to [name of developer]. If you fail to do this, then there could be a delay as we always check that the original developer no longer needs the license.

Error:

"Your license does not support this version of the product"

Answer:

In order to upgrade some SN products, a support fee is chargeable. If you receive this error message it is because this support fee has not been paid, so you cannot use this version of the software. Either contact contact@snsys.com and purchase the support, or revert to an earlier version of the software (one released before your support contract expired).
